A Brief History of Salanda
The Kingdom of Salanda was founded on 22 June 2018 by King Reuben I, coinciding with his 13th birthday. Following the earlier dissolution of the Kingdom of Ristabbita, Reuben sought to build a new nation, establishing Salanda as an absolute monarchy with himself as its sole citizen and ruler.
Early Years (2018–2020): Absolute Monarchy
Soon after its founding, Salanda faced a brief conflict with a rival state called Tuse in what became known as the Great Pillow War, which Salanda won decisively. In December 2018, Salanda was declared an empire and began expanding rapidly, with new institutions like the Salanda Airspace Administration and Salanda National Studios boosting national growth. However, by late 2020, calls for democratic reform led to major change. On 1 November 2020, the empire was dissolved, and Salanda became a constitutional monarchy. Reuben I became the first Prime Minister, marking the beginning of Salanda’s democratic era.
First Government (2020–2021)
The First Government was formed with support from the rejoining Tusean delegation. It saw economic growth, the expansion of the civil service, and the formal establishment of Salanda’s foreign affairs office. The government promoted national unity and stability, which helped increase citizen participation. However, when Tuse sought independence again, the government collapsed on 19 June 2021.
Second Government (2021–2023)
Led by Prime Minister Solomon K, the Second Government brought stability and structure. Tuse rejoined Salanda as a province, new diplomatic ties were formed, and the constitution was officially codified. During this period, Federalia chose to join Salanda and became a Salandarian province on 24 April 2023. Solomon K later resigned, and Samuel B became Prime Minister.
Third Government (2023–present)
The Third Government was formed after the July 2023 election, with a coalition between the Solo Party and the Federalian Nationalistic Party. Samuel B remained Prime Minister, with Eric Darkgoat as Chancellor. On 20 March 2025, Samuel B resigned, and Jacob S became the new Prime Minister.
